Fall/Winter Hockey

This program is for boys and girls who turn 9 through 14 during 2021. Players who turn 8 this calendar year are only allowed to try out for this program with the permission of the Hockey Director.

Tryouts will take place at the end of April. There will be a series of ice sheets in the Summer for skills. Regular practices begin in late August. Games typically start in the middle of September and the league season ends with the playoffs in late February.

Each player gets 2-4 ice times each week that are used for practices and home games. Practice days and times will be semiregular and predictable after the pre-season. Practices are typically no earlier than 5:45 pm on weekdays.

Teams in this program play full-ice games. Depending on the size of the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League division your team is placed in, the team will play approximately 20-27 league games (8-12 pre-season & 12-15 regular season). Your coach may also decide to participate in scrimmages and tournaments to pick up additional games. Totals could be between 36-50 games in all.

Players in this program must purchase the SYHC home and away jerseys and socks. This expense is not included in the season's fee.

Each team will have to cover expenses such as referee fees for scrimmages and tournament entrance fees. Total amounts vary by team schedule, number of scrimmages and tournaments. LATE FEES: SYHC provides a 15-day grace period for failed payments. After 15 days we will attempt to recharge the credit card on file for the installment amount due plus a $25 late fee.
