Youth Hockey Registration
Welcome to the Strongsville Youth Hockey Club (SYHC)! Whether your child is brand new to hockey or has been playing for years, we’re excited to welcome your family to our herd. Here’s everything you need to know about joining our program.
🚸 Ages
Boys and girls who turn 9 to 14 years old in 2026 can join this program. Players who are 8 years old this year need the Hockey Director’s permission to try out.
📅 When
Skill trials are in March. There will be some optional skills-based ice sheets during summer. Team practices start in late August. Games usually begin in mid-September and end with playoffs in late February.

🥅 Practices
Each player gets 2-4 ice times each week that are used for practices and home games. Practice days and times will be semiregular and predictable after the pre-season. Practices are typically no earlier than 5:45 pm on weekdays.
🏒 Games
This program has full-ice games. Teams play about 20-27 league games based on their Cleveland Suburban Hockey League division. This includes 8-12 pre-season and 12-15 regular season games. Coaches may also choose to join scrimmages and tournaments for additional games. The total number of games could range from 36 to 50.
🎽 Jerseys
Players in this program must purchase the SYHC home and away jerseys and socks. This expense is not included in the season's fee. Jersey sizing takes place in July.
💲 Additional Costs
Each team will have to cover expenses such as referee fees for scrimmages and tournament entrance fees. Total amounts vary by team schedule, number of scrimmages and tournaments. LATE FEES: SYHC provides a 25-day grace period for failed payments. After 25 days we will attempt to recharge the credit card on file for the installment amount due plus a $35 late fee. We appreciate your interest in the Mustangs! Tryouts for the 2026-27 season will begin soon.
Registration for the upcoming season remains invite-only for returning members and selected prospects. To express your interest and receive a registration link, please reach out to our staff.
SEASON DUES & ASSESSMENTS
General pricing structure for the 2026-27 season:
- 10U / Squirt: $1300
- 12U / Peewee: $1400
- 14U / Bantam: $1500
GOALIE PROGRAM: MUSTANG KEEPS™
Goalies invited to the program are eligible for the Mustang Keeps™ incentive package:
- $300 Commitment Fee: Fully refundable upon meeting the in-net commitment through December 15.
- Equipment/Training Grant: Reimbursement of up to $400 for approved goalie gear or professional training (receipts required).
