Board Members
Ana's son, Perry, will be a second-year Peewee for the 2026-2027 season. It will be his sixth year with Strongsville Hockey. She lives in Brecksville with Perry, her daughter, Carolena, and her husband, Justin. Ana has previously served Strongsville Youth Hockey Club as Vice President and 10U Trustee.
Alaina is an educational researcher and published author. Her science programs have been used by over 2 million students to date. She serves on her kid’s school PTO board, and the Akron Zoo Education Committee. Alaina’s 2011 and 2014 skaters are active in lacrosse, horseback riding, reffing and piano, so she’s probably in the car right now. Alaina loves pugs, dirty chai, rink popcorn, Coach Matt and hat tricks.
Samantha and her husband, Rusty, live in Brunswick and have a son and daughter. Their son, Lucas, is a 2013 first-year Bantam for the 2026–27 season and has played for SYHC for the past six years. Samantha enjoys serving as both a team manager and the Registrar for the club, while her husband is an assistant coach. Professionally, she is a STEM teacher for Polaris Career Center and is housed as a satellite teacher for middle school students at North Olmsted Middle School.
Deborah is the mom of Henry, a 14U SYHC player, and an active team volunteer. She works in Clinical Informatics and enjoys running, cooking, and volunteering.
Brad has lived in Strongsville for 23 years. He has over 25 years experience doing due diligence work for lenders nationwide. His son is a 2nd year squirt.
Julie and her husband, Bob, have been active hockey parents at SYHC for many years. Julie is SYHC's longest servicing board member and will have two peewees at Strongsville next season. Julie has 3 very active children who participate in a multitude of activities outside of hockey, including lacrosse, football, basketball, and choir. Julie has previously served as 10U trustee while Bob served as a long-time coach for the club.
Laura and her husband have lived in Strongsville for around 6 years and love the area. Laura’s son is a 2nd year Squirt (2016) and has been in the Strongsville Hockey program since Mites. Laura loves being a hockey mom and supporting the team and program however she can.
Shannon is a Program Manager at University Hospitals and serves at her children's school PTU. She is a mom of three children, two of which love hockey. Her oldest child, Aurora will be entering the mite's program. Her husband Mark has played hockey during his youth, collegiate years, and adulthood.
Other Volunteers
Crista and her husband have a first year bantam (Matthew). They live in Avon with their son and daughter. Crista is a long-time hockey mom, and loves all things hockey! In the past she served as the 8U Trustee on the SYHC Board. Professionally, she is a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Heidi Finnegan is the mom of Isaiah, a first year peewee. She works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is hopeful to transfer those skills to help cultivate camaraderie amongst our organization. She’s excited to work with the Club this year! Go Mustangs!
With years of coaching from mite-bantam to B-AAA levels, Matt has a heart for all players. He has a deep commitment to supporting skaters as they grow not only as hockey players but also as confident, respectful, and resilient individuals.
Brian has been a dedicated and revered coach of SYHC for more than a decade, committed to the growth and success of SYHC players. Brian brings a steady, development-focused approach rooted in consistency, sportsmanship, and long-term player growth.
After 5 years of being Club president. Mindy now serves as a connection to the CSHL league. Professionally she is a digital product manager.
